Timex were once know as the Waterbury Watch Company and are largely responsible for bringing watches to the masses early in the 20th century. Having popularised the wearing of wristwatches and then making them affordable, Timex used some ingenious advertising and top notch design to make sure that almost every second American wore a Timex watch.
